By now at race tracks all over Australia the “Lexus Piranha Real Deal Motor Sports Insurance Toyota Genuine Parts Hot Rods” Toyota Chooks have made quite a presence, with thanks from Toyota Genuine Parts for the generous supply of Toyota Chooks. We have had custom made ribbon to indentify them as genuine Real Deal Motor Sports Insurance Toyota Genuine Parts Lexus merchandise and they are not for sale but given away at the end of each winning pass. We have also given them to starters, firey’s, ambulance people, officials and other hard working mainly volunteers upon request, and boy do we get a lot of requests for the “Lexus Toyota Chooks”.
Chooky on the start line at Kwinana Motorplex in Western Australia is a keen fan of the Lexus Toyota Chooks as you will see by the photos at the Western Nats. Not only do they adorn our car but they also have been seen on the Rocket Allstars Supercharged OUTLAWS Winter Nationals winners John & Sharon Ward’s High Performance World dragster recently winning duel Christmas Trees. It was a lovely gesture from John & Sharon to put the chooks on their dragster, after all in the 2nd round he took us out fair & square and advanced to win the Australian No.1. That was the money race for both of us. John had done his job and taken out our good friend from Warwick Chris Lloy who was leading going into the competition. Both John and Nathan were tied on 120 points. After having made the long and expensive trip to Western Australia both John & Nathan ended up on 0 points. Chris went in leading on 160 points; Wardy ends up winning it with 220 points in total, congratulations once again. In all his years of racing this makes 2 Gold Christmas Trees for the Wards “it doesn’t rain it pours” well deserved.
THE PENGUIN
We get a lot of questions, why the penguin? Very simple it’s one of the nicknames given to me by crewmember Brett Schy AKA “Skecky” unfortunately being the ideal weight for a man 11ft tall and having flat feet, if you have ever seen Danny De Vito’s character the Penguin in the Batman movie you would understand why they call me “The Penguin”.
Hence the long and ongoing saga of the Penguins life troubles at Drag Racing Meetings. We have a number of penguins, a little baby one on the wheelie bar various sizes in the truck and on the race car and the Emperor Penguin on top of the tow vehicle. Now that poor old Emperor Penguin, at the Winternats he was kidnapped I think by the Benaraby Crew and gaffer taped to the lighting tower, see photo. Nasty! Penguins don’t like heights.
We are still missing one penguin kidnapped at Benaraby by Chopper Muscat, his associate Ken Peatey and other known bikie felons. He was held ransom for the gen set. The ransom was never paid and needless to say the penguin has never been seen again.
