20 days until we have to leave Rockhampton to head down to Sydney, with mixed emotions returning to the scene of the fire. Last time I left WSID was in the back of an ambulance going to the Concord burns hospital.
Twelve months later we are certainly returning with a diesel generator (that is as long as Alan Woods from Rebound Metal products can finish the new transporter) with all the bells & whistles on it, in a partially finished 8 seat Iveco motor home with 340 HP. The Black Mariah is for sale or sold, depending on which way you look at things and the extra 120 HP should make the long hauls from Rockhampton even more enjoyable once we finally finish the transporter.
As you will see by the photo’s there is a fair bit to go in the next two weeks. This trip we will be bringing the Lexus Piranha Supercharged Outlaws Hot Rod as we endeavor to win one of those elusive ANDRA gold Christmas trees. This year is going to busy as we will be trying to do all of the Rocket All Stars Racing Series rounds including our second trip to Perth for the Westernationals.
The next trip to WSID will be for the Summernationals and we hope to have the teams Front Engined Dragstergoing by then, again to be powered by a Supercharged Quad Cam Lexus engine for number 2 son Zachary to earn his stripes in.
However for the Ac Delco East Coast Nationals we will be bringing Alan Croft with us. Alan is a vital part of our team as he does most of the maintenance on the heads of the Lexus Hot Rod engine, which need a lot of tender loving care to keep it alive.
Crofty will be on the 600cc Suzuki Modified Bike, but again on his next return to WSID he will have his Suzuki Hayabusa ready to go complete with slick, wheelie bar and all the good go fast bits he needs.
We will also be bringing the runner up from Junior Dragster at this years Winternationals, Ace Edwards down. Ace, along with Nathan were ANDRA’s divisional champions for North Queensland in there respective brackets.
